Empowering the Deaf Community through BIM
The Malaysian Sign Language and Deaf Studies National Organisation traces its origins to 8 February 2014, when it was first registered with the Registrar of Societies under its former name, the Malaysian Sign Language and Deaf Studies Association. Founded by a group of dedicated Deaf individuals, it sought to elevate Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) to a place of greater public recognition and widespread use. On 15 December 2024, the organisation attained national status, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing mission and affirming its influence on the cultural and linguistic landscape of Malaysia.
