Similar to Forum KomPekak, introduced in 2022, the MyBIM Forum continued the initiative in 2024, providing a platform for the Deaf community to explore and deepen their understanding of BIM and Deaf community. The program included regular Zoom sessions to engage with Deaf heritage and language, fostering the preservation of Deaf traditions and ensuring the continuation of BIM and Deaf identity. This ongoing effort supported the community’s cultural growth and strengthens connections within and outside the Deaf community.

This initiative strengthened the community’s connection to its roots and reinforced the significance of embracing BIM and the Deaf community. Deaf poetry plays a crucial role in expressing unique experiences and perspectives, preserving and promoting the Deaf community. BIM is integral to the Deaf community’s identity, and its use fosters connections within the community, emphasising linguistic rights.

Communication between Deaf individuals and with hearing people presents distinct challenges. It’s important to promote awareness to bridge these gaps. BIM is a fundamental human right that ensures access to education, social participation, and equal opportunities for Deaf people. Leadership roles within the Deaf community should be inclusive, empowering Deaf individuals to advocate for their culture. Upholding BIM ensures the future of the Deaf community, supporting personal empowerment and societal inclusion.
